About Anne Carson


Anne Carson Thompson practices primarily in the areas of municipal bond law and public finance. Anne Carson Thompson has practiced in the area of public finance since 2003 and has represented issuers, underwriters, lenders and borrowers in a variety of debt financings throughout Georgia. Her experience includes taxable and tax-exempt public finance transactions, including governmental general obligation and revenue bond financings, 501(c)(3) hospital and private school financings, special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) bond financings and tax incentive transactions.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Anne Carson Thompson received a B.A. from the University of Mississippi Honors College, magna cum laude, with a major in English and southern studies. She received her law degree from the University of Georgia, cum laude, where she was a member of the Georgia Law Review editorial board. Upon graduation she spent two years as a law clerk in the United States District Court Northern District of Georgia.

Anne Carson Thompson is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of Utah and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. Prior to joining Gray Pannell & Woodward LLP, Anne Carson practiced law for 13 years with King & Spalding, LLP, Atlanta, Georgia, as a part of their Public Finance practice group.
