Jim Woodward to present at Institute for City and County Attorneys
Jim Woodward will present a continuing legal education seminar focusing on development authorities during the ICLE Institute for City and County Attorneys held September 13 – 14, 2012 in Athens, Georgia. Mr. Woodward, a partner in Gray Pannell & Woodward’s Atlanta office, focuses his practice primarily in the areas of public finance and economic development incentives. He has represented numerous development authorities on tax abatement and economic incentive packages, most recently acting as counsel to the Oconee County Industrial Development Authority on a $150 million financing for Caterpillar Inc. Caterpillar is currently under construction for the new $200 million factory which is expected to employ approximately 1,400 people outside of Athens, Georgia. Mr. Woodward’s presentation will focus on the different type of development authorities created under Georgia law and the how these authorities can finance new economic development.
